Dr. Shawn Rennick D.C.

Dr. Rennick is a chiropractor and the owner of Action Sports Clinic. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Since then he has completed additional professional training in Active Release Technique®, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation and advanced analysis and treatment of biomechanical foot problems.

Dr. Rennick has worked with professional ironman triathletes, elite and professional cyclists, marathon runners, competitive swimmers, golfers, hockey players, extreme skiers and boarders, motocross racers, competitive waterskiers, Stampeders football players. He is a preferred provider for Chevron Canada Resources and a frequent volunteer at YMCA Calgary. Dr. Rennick is also the team doctor for Train Right Systems (TRS).

Outside of his professional career, Dr. Rennick is an avid mountain biker and skier. He also enjoys motocross, mountain climbing, hiking, fishing archery and general fitness.

Renata Reid BScPT, BHK

Renata completed her Bachelor of Human Kinectics (BHK) in Exercise Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Following this she continued her education at UBC, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BScPT). Renata has completed post-graduate education in Manual Therapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and acupuncture training through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada (AFCI). 

Renata has been with Action Sports Clinic since September 2005. Her previous work experience includes working in the private practice setting treating patients following motor vehicle accidents (MVA), work and sports related injuries as well as repetitive strain injuries. She has also spent time working in the hospital setting in burn therapy and hand therapy. Renata has a special interest in upper extremity injuries.

When she is not working, Renata can be found on the dancefloor. She has several years experience as a competitive Ballroom Dancer and has recently taken up Salsa dancing. Prior to dancing, Renata was an elite tennis player winning numerous provincial championships in her native British Columbia. She also enjoys golf and ultimate frisbee.

Marcin Partyka BScPT

Marcin graduated from the University of Alberta (U of A) with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BScPT). Since graduating he has completed additional professional training in Acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI) as well as in McKenzie protocol.

Marcin’s professional experience includes working in a private practice setting treating patients following motor vehicle accidents (MVA), work and sports related injuries as well as repetitive strain injuries (RSI). He has been with Action Sports Clinic since July 2005 and has a special interest in knee injuries.

Marcin spent his youth as a competitive swimmer (14 years). He swam for the U of A Golden Bears for 4 years. In 2001 he was named Rookie of the year and was the team’s MVP in 2004. Marcin competed in the Olympic trials in 2004. He is currently taking a break from competitive swimming and enjoying a wide range of activities including rock climbing, squash and skiing.

Kelly Burnett, RMT

Kelly completed her Diploma in Massage Therapy at Medicine Hat College. She is a registered massage therapist and has five years experience in multidisciplinary clinics treating clients following motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), repetitive strain injuries and stress related complaints.

Kelly spent much of her youth (9 years) competing in Judo at a national level. In more recent years Kelly has taken up baseball, golf and snowboarding.

Jessica Bower

Jessica is the newest addition to the Action Sports Team. She is a Calgary native who ventured east to obtain a Kinesiology degree from Acadia University where she played point guard and captained the varsity basketball team. At Action Sports Clinic, Jessica holds the position of administrative/clinical assistant. Her smiling face will greet you when you arrive at Action Sports Clinic and help make your visit a pleasant and efficient one.
